If we want to make change we have to get in the habit of voting, and voting EARLY. Anything can happen on Election Day. Take advantage of early voting, and make sure your voice is heard. ❤️

Tennessee is not a lost cause. We are not fully outnumbered, we just have a problem with apathy. When Democrats show up, we win. If we pay attention, work together, and VOTE, there's no doubt in my mind that we can win this seat. Have hope, and go vote. 💙

Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, and sent regards and good wishes. I'm so grateful I get to have another trip around the sun and, I'm thankful every day for my family, friends, and supporters who lift me up. ❤️

This is my favorite time of year. While things seem to be dying, I always see it more as hibernating. Saving and storing their energy for rebirth in the spring.

So store up your energy, hug someone you love and celebrate the small joys. ☕

This National Cheeseburger Day, do something even more satisfying: vote early in the #TN07 special election! Right now, the odds are stacked against us. the only thing that should be stacked that high is a cheeseburger from Brown's diner, but we can overcome if we just get out and VOTE 🗳️🍔💙

Even a year later, with all that’s happened, his words ring true. We are still fighting for our freedoms and for a country that lives up to its promise for everyone.

The passage of the “Big, Beautiful Bill” is a deep betrayal of working Americans.

While billionaires benefit, our communities will face cuts to healthcare, food assistance, and education.

The truth is that this isn’t progress; it’s a step backward.

It was a moment of pure joy. Of justice catching up with love.

We’ve come so far, but every day, we see how fast our rights can be rolled back. Bodily autonomy. Free speech. Basic privacy. Nothing is guaranteed unless we keep showing up and fighting for it.

Ten years ago today, I stood in the Davidson County Clerk’s office and said the words: “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here…” - officiating the first legal same-sex marriage in our county after the Supreme Court struck down marriage bans nationwide.

I’ve been so moved by the messages and reflections you’ve shared after reading It’s What You Do Next. 💛
