That’s not okay at all 👎

After playing Inferno last weekend, I’m convinced he’s trying to make it to the 9th ring of hell. It’s the best ring. No other ring is better.

Yes! Love it - and it’s so pretty

If you add the pretty feathers into Nassau, I’ll play it with you more often

Well I appreciate it! Maybe I’ll try making it this weekend

Isn’t it? I love it so much. I’ve played it twice, but I’m going to push some of my regular gaming buddies into a 3 game series of it in the near future

I didn’t mean to give you homework!! Sorry and thank you, this looks amazing and I’m a fan of tossing things in the crock pot for an easy dinner ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

There was a lot of disco going on in the second ring of hell 😆

Agree on streaming it - it would be a good one. Part of the reason we were playing it was to test it out and see if we want to stream it.

The gems come out throughout and those definitely didn’t fall in my favor! And remember my 1st play when land map was configured in a way we couldn’t easily get some one of the critical things like provisions or ammo cubes? Nassau isn’t getting hate from me! I do like it, but more Cuzco, please :)

Does this post come with a recipe?

Inferno! Got a chance to try this out yesterday. It’s dripping with hellish theme and does a great job tying the mechanics into the theme.

That said, it is a Feld! So there are a lot of ways to score points and if you play the opportunities and play the other players…

The major frustration I have with it is how much luck there is. Where everything flops in the water zone, in particular…

Last night’s play was at 4p though had a fantastic time! A higher player count is definitely the way to go with this one; it made it much more fun than the 2p experience I previously had

First of all, we had it half way set up before I even realized I had played it before, so clearly it had left an impression on me 😜

Great game of Nassau last night! I’m a Feld fan girl 🙌 This one lands kind of middle of the road for me…

Picture of Flatiron setup about half way through the game. Flatiron building is in the process of the 3rd floor being built.

Close up of the Flatiron building fully built at the end of the game. Orange, white, and blue pillars can be seen between the floors. There are many more orange than blue, which is one of the reasons I lost this play!

Flatiron is such a good 2 player (and I hear it’s a feisty solo! I haven’t tried it solo yet). The push/pull between players and the timing choices are tough!

But I especially like #2 on your list. I have a couple iconic ones I need to prioritize, like Tigris and Euphrates.

Ooh - I like those criteria for the challenge! I typically have a SoS challenge too because it’s useful for prodding myself into getting the more complex games that will take longer to learn to the table

This is absolutely my problem. There’s a distinct window of time where a new game is sitting on the table, eager to be played in all its newness! But once it moves to the literal shelf of unplayed games, its odds of getting played soon go way down. Like lost luggage at the airport after 24hrs 😂

Re-posting this since there was barely anyone on Bluesky when I originally posted this a year ago. Any other opinions on shelf of shame vs shelf of opportunity?!

26.01.2025 13:50 — 👍 3    🔁 0    💬 3    📌 0

My personal definition is that a game is on my shelf of opportunity for up to 1 year. If it’s been there for >1 year, it’s on my shelf of shame!

In fairness, I only played Inventions once. I liked it, but complexity has been a barrier to getting others to play. Which feels odd to say since Speakeasy is definitely complex! I think it’s just that it’s more intuitive. I owe Weather Machine another play as well, but for me it was least intuitive

Yeeesss! We have a slow, but long running D&D campaign that started when my oldest was 11. I’m not much of an RPG’er, but the fact that my oldest wants to play is a huge influence. I think I’ve solidly convinced the younger one to be a Euro gamer though, so I’ve covered my bases!

I remember those days! You’re grooming players 3 and 4 though 🙂 Not including setup and teach, this play took us 3 hours. We agreed that we could easily shave off an hour on the next play.
