It seems a few people seem to not understand what the term “populist” means.

The fact that they can look at these petitions which rack up millions of signatures and just completely brush them off with a "our pwan is gweat" is what really pisses me off. They're not interested in listening to the people unless it's at knife-point, apparently.

Yeah, that's basically it. It was well-liked at the time, then snarky Internet "reviewers" trashed its reputation, now people are starting to warm to it again. It's like what happened with Final Fantasy VIII.
