By far the dumbest analysis I continue to see nonstop is the assertion that Trump would lose credibility if he backed down and didn't attack Iran. This is a wishcasting framework for advocating an attack without saying so outright.

I can’t stop thinking about this, but this was the main reason Trump and the US toppled Venezuela’s government and seized its oil. It was always done to starve Cuba of oil and make Cuban civilization grind to a stop and crumble to nothingness. It was always designed for US domination of the world

Friends from Minneapolis reporting to me that things are at the point where folks are being hidden in other people's houses and we are in the "again" part of "never again" which the "never" was supposed to preclude

People don't really think through how the Nazis actively made it harder for Jews to leave

The idea that all Americans are guaranteed any kind of freedom of movement, including boarding a flight, is quite the presumption at this point.

Getting my book from the library means that the library keeps it in stock and people will find it and read it and the book will live and I love that for my book

The workshop today was about the roles we claim in upholding fascism and what roles we can claim to create a better world.

I’m a writer, so that’s where my musings are going. How do I do these two things?

Folklore not as nationalistic enterprise. Not culture-defining and defined tropes and myth. Not nostalgia. But something that is decentralized knowledge. A futurism of folklore, as it were.

So grateful for today’s workshop from @yaffasutopia.bsky.social . I’m honing in on how I can use my skills to prefigure a better world, and address how I uphold the world as it is now. I think the same roles apply here.

Folklore is very gross, friends. It has so much fascism on it.
