This event will be held on Monday, November 17th at 7:30pm, at the 92nd Street Y’s Geffen Stage at Kaufmann Concert Hall.

Join Robert Pinsky, Kevin Young, Paul Muldoon, and Ruth Negga at 92NY for a reading and celebration of Seamus Heaney’s poetry. Hear a group of Heaney’s friends and admirers - including surprise guests - as they pay tribute to his seismic influence.

On August 21st, 1979, Robert Pinsky's second collection of poetry, An Explanation of America, was published by Princeton University Press.

The New York Times Book Review called it "[an] ambitious and immensely likeable long poem . . . a poem which - a rare thing - seems to combine intimacy
