It's a short walk from Riverside but even a short walk with that set up is probably less than optimal.

Of course this one has a smooth well functioning aperture and the glass in like new condition... But it seems it only works wide open on the digital backs.
Guess I'm in the market for some manual k mount lenses for the K1000

got the email this morning and no joke first thought: How horrible is the person with that much money, but also good cause they need the cash? followed by 'fuck how bad'
And no - I was never in it deep enough then to know of or them. My early crew was limited to Coach Coachy (aka Coach Rick Ricky).
I opened up this app on the phone and scrolled for a second and gave myself a panic attack.
It was enough motivation to carve a few minutes out to post some images. I've got a few more to share, but will pace it.
It is legit scary out there but we've gotta keep going friends...
So yes, the camera seems to be working. The lens? meh a little soft, esp noticeable on the K3 (digital monochrome sensor)
There is play between the lens mount and the lens assembly. Can't find a good 'how to take this variation apart' video or documentation, and it is enough to vignette.

Awe thank you.
They are a mainstay of my daily commute and I'm always grateful to see them, and being on the bike means I can sometimes stop and get the camera out and sneak up on them and get a photo.

Popped the 70-210 Vivtar on the 📷 K3 mono and yeah manual focus of birds doing action stuff with this lens is TOUGH as expected.
The gulls were also working the schools of little fish from above.

I feel I can hit some big points about why thinner is better on the chemistry of the glue alone.
But hey, as long as they don't roll. All good.
I fuss about it 'cause I have a much higher adhesion force requirement because 2x you (even though 0.5x fast) 😁
It's more about the layers of dry glue than a big sloppy wet glue, ya know this, right?
More is better if you let the thin layers dry...
Dude... How are ya getting glue on the sidewalls?
I mean I guess I can use my imagination. Next time HMU we can do a zoom and go through it 😉
If there's a next time
UN54 seems good in XTOL and D-76 AND even in Zone's 510-pyro
kind of really like this film... and your images confirm this.

Not sure why I didn't put this with the group yesterday. But looking at the photos from the session, it is one I like. Given the statistics of the internet and sharing it might be the least popular of them all (not the goal)

Nonsense, coffee is ALWAYS the answer 😁
Thank you 🙏
i have an abysmally cheap and crappy M42 Vivitar, it was all I could afford way back in college (made a bit after this one, but not by much), this is night and day different.
Seems this V.3 might have been the pinnacle (of these zoom range) made by Komine.
There's a lot in that last book that is kind of perfect for the right now.
(Bonus for referencing Art & Fear)
Good light reading even if there are excessive references to Twitter 😉

More specifically it is version 3
(for those keeping track)
And yes it is heavy (lots of glass) and push pull is kind of annoying but unlike say the Nikon zoom gravity doesn't seem to change the zoom.
