And as with all of the best reviewers, @clivepaget.bsky.social isn’t afraid to point out where he thinks the music falls, short but gives a fantastic and rounded overview. Thank you!

Bantock: The Seal-Woman β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… Read the Limelight review.

β€œIt’s all brought to life beautifully by conductor John Andrews who achieves as effective a balance between melodic reflection and narrative thrust as you might hope for... Recorded in meticulous sound and perfectly balanced, The Seal-Woman is a delightful and tuneful find and well worth a listen.”

For centuries, a β€œgossip” was a woman who attended another woman's delivery. The word was a corruption of β€œgod-sib” or β€œgod-sibling,” meaning β€œsister in the Lord.” The gossips offered support to mother and midwife. Only later did the term take on a derogatory meaning.

A photo of the front cover of issue 1643 of Private Eye magazine with the caption "on shelves now." The headline reads "UKRAINE PEACE PLAN LATEST" in bold yellow and black text. The cover features an image of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump in conversation. Speech bubbles add dialogue to the scene: Trump says, "Guess what the deal is?" to which Zelensky responds, "I give in." Trump then replies, "Correct!"
