So it’s interesting to see media products that are produced in another country that are not as concerned about IP. It expands their ability to do certain types of cheap lazy storytelling. I’ve now found the marvel rip off section of Chinese soap operas and it is fascinating!

I enjoy watching media that uses different tropes than those used in the United States. So I like that somebody will spit out blood if they feelings get hurt enough or if they realize in the fundamental way that they have lost. I like it every time it happens.

My favorite transmigration story has the main character having medical skills and showing up when ancient China is suffering through a plague and introducing them to the super technology of wearing masks! It has been a recurring plot line in seven or eight different dramas I’ve watched so far.

More observations about these Chinese soap operas. I changed platforms and it has brightened my perspectives. I think the platform was on for a particular heterosexist dynamic that I am into. But now I’m heavily into these trans migration stories!

In alignment with the calling up justice values our lead digital producer proclaimed today black and brown people don’t have to work today. So we will not be doing a live stream this afternoon lol. We’re taking the afternoon off! No trektable today. We’ll be back next week.

Haven’t completed this presentation and had a vigorous and delightful conversation with six other disabled artists I believe that it is time for me to become more familiar with other peoples artwork and possibly share my stuff with more traditional presentation spaces

The practice exists on social media primarily which is not a traditional space to distribute art. So I’ve got a prolific amount of content and most of it is mostly just been shared on social media. Also I’m a little ignorant about other people in the field

One of the points I made in my presentation was that I am forming digitally college with a decolonizing art practice. And I am using whatever is around me to produce work. Back in the day I was collaging with abandoned advertisement and capitalist trash- today I am using AI tools

I just finished doing a presentation on my artificial intelligence artwork. In many ways my visual art practice is like a folk art practice because it is not or centered in traditional training or scholarship or presentation

Is it procrastination or percolation? Possibly you need some time to not produce and fellow so that you can be prolific and productive later

There are some larger ideas around how we resist and produce digital sovereignty for ourselves at scale and these ideas are connected to enterprise models and ways for consumers to access the power of enterprise model

I’ve got several projects that I’m working on that our business to business marketing and in my own personal practice I am attempting to create models where individuals can access what the enterprise model offers. In some ways it’s fighting corporate shapes as individuals

I love the parts about ethics and responsibility that Dr. Hopkins is talking about. I’m also intrigued with some ideas around business to business marketing versus business consumer marketing. I tend to think in business to consumer framework because I’m centering people.

I think “move fast and break things” always ends up in one step forward two steps back because you end up having to go back to the beginning to redesign. It’s a profit model not a sustainable design model. Let’s move in Crip time and heal things.

Move Crip time and exponentially improve everything. Instead of having sloppy unthoughtful design iterations that flood the market with things that hurt people, —thoughtfully design and take steps that support and maintain human life and productivity

In terms of a design philosophy for technology instead of move fast build things I say embrace Crip Time. Do not build so fast that you break people. Do not build so fast that you cannot understand what you are breaking and remaking. There should be no one time scale for everyone

Moving exclusively fast is a modality I reject. Supremacy culture and capitalism want you to move so fast you cannot measure or account for the harm that is being produced with that supremacy culture movement. We must move thoughtfully. We must move in the right time

They brought up the concept of move fast and break things. And now this is a design philosophy that guarantees broken communities broken people broken systems. I first responded “move fast build things”. The audience liked it

I am loving this talk in my women in AI ethics group. Dr. Stacey Hobson is the director of the responsible technologies research group at IBM research. I really like her ideas
