I know that's a bit tmi but, I just like talking about web design. My own stuff isn't great, but I'm pretty confident in saying a feature like this should be high priority for usability. It's just insanely disappointing to see features that would help with accessibility be rolled out faster.

It's been a thing since the platform launched. The API is just clustering anything between two sets of post notifs, rather than clustering them period. The result of which is just, a sprawl of notifications. It's simple to fix the moment you make a good framework between your frontend and your CMS.

And by extension, this system only becomes enabled after you get a few thousand followers. So that means small accounts get all the love they get straight to them, whereas larger accounts such as myself don't get spammed in their notifications.

True, I honestly really like twitter's system that actually pings me on mobile for anyone with a large enough following so I can check their shit and see how cool they are. It promotes artists to engage with eachother.

And from my experience with web design, it should be relatively easy to do a basic system that's at least better than the current system - but hey, we're talking about a website that can't even prompt a feed refresh after you post to see the post be live on your own account feed. 🤷‍♀️

I IDEALLY don't want to mute threads, but honestly, fair idea.

My complaint is that the platform has been public for well over a year and basic QOL such as clustered notifications still doesn't exist somehow.

I get they want to be less algo dependant but it's just bad UX 🦌

This isn't like, a selective area. It's like this for hundreds and hundreds of notifications.

Here's a section of my notifications, and it's like this every day, where I have to scroll for 5 minutes straight to get from top to bottom of my notifications.

And I'm not even THAT BIG of an artist. It's completely unusable.

If there's a notification between follows such as, another post that isn't already blowing up, it doesn't. Same applies to retweets and likes.

If one person goes through my past art and likes all of it, it generates 40 different notifications, while other stuff is being liked, separating it all.
