Fell on the line "No man has ever peed properly" in Amnandi Sails today and laughed my ass off, which seemed necessary considering the news of each and every day.
Enjoy what you create, luvs. Consider it infusing flavors to waters you give somebody else to sip.
When gravity increases & I feel flatter than a hair, I might grab something I wrote & flip to random sections. If that lifts me, I think of sumbody who might be having a shitty day & they pick up one of my books and say fuck off world, I'm reimagining. That's a strong elevating feeling. Fuel 4 life.

13.11.2025 15:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The Goodreads Choice Awards are upon us & I'm honestly really staggered & thrilled to see THE RIVER HAS ROOTS made it into the first round of Fantasy picks! It's in tremendous company, & y'all should go vote for your faves if you're so inclined! The first round runs from Nov 11 - 23.

13.11.2025 14:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Do I want people to buy my books? Heck yes. But when the Khumalo trilogy is done I might sit with the idea of my dream project, a script for a Herculoids movie. If I sit long enough, I might actually do. This'd be entirely for play; nobody's looking for me in Hanna-Barbera land. Be helluva fun tho.

have recalled enough moments of warmth as to suffuse me from core to skin. Kind of like the Earth. I'm going to take that very very wistful thought to sleep with me.
09.11.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The instant I set this laptop down to do nothing but drift with the snow I'll have forgotten why I typed this in the first place, but will likely (very gradually, so much so that I won't know when I fade out)
09.11.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Flakes drop, whirl, swirl, then randomly catch an updraft and seem as if they've popped back up to eye level because they're curious to see me. Briefly. Which is fine. Nothing about me needs to be the center of long attention.
09.11.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't mind stopping to see the 10 snowflakes I can count fall. There are countless others with them. I don't mind there being no TV on, no music, just the fall.
09.11.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Sometimes it's not about creating an artificial sun but acclimating the unseen thoughts to a slower pace. No matter how fast a pre-winter wind blows, this time of year always demands slowness for me. Slowness to the point of nothingness.
09.11.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I have my own memories cleaving me, my own loves and changing moods. Lack of sun has me full of 'used to be,' and I have a sun lamp but am actively choosing not to use it now.
09.11.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I see it thru the large balcony windows off my living room. Nothing's sticking yet. Mother Earth's still too flush. With emotion, with summer memories, with love, who knows? All I know is the world is of 2 minds at the moment & neither wants to mesh. Fine with me. I don't want to get off this sofa.
09.11.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The day started with sleet driven by high winds that turn the tiniest crystals into angry bees, then warmed slightly to a mist, & has now napped back toward full snow, fleet fat flakes that whip but now & again stop time to waft, almost like dancers changing the tempo to catch the viewer off guard.

โI never considered what would come after creation.โ The flaw of most so-called gods. Guillermoโs Frankenstein: every scene offers something for the eye and the brain, which is maybe the highest gift of any art.
