1969 | As announced in the match programme, Willie Ormond wins Scottish football's first Manager of the Month award. Saints had won all their league cup group games in August, the only team to do so, and opened the league campaign with a 2-2 draw away to Celtic.

1998 | In Sandy Clark's first game as boss, St Johnstone thrash Hibs 4-0 in the League Cup quarter-final. Saints led by three at the break through Nathan Lowndes' double and a goal from Gerry McMahon. John O'Neil finished the rout in the second half.
