I disagree. For true inner peace, we need to accept what’s out of our control, but we don’t have to tolerate it. There’s a difference. For example, my husband died a few months ago. And for the first months, I couldn’t accept it. I couldn’t begin healing until I did.

Today, I’m #grateful for #lemon meringue pie, one of my favorites. My mom made the best! What’s your favorite pie? Post inspired by the bountiful lemons being harvested right now here in the #Coachella valley.

Now,more than ever, I need to lean into this.

We are roughing it for a few days at a friend’s casita since our AC is out of commission during an unseasonably hot period in the desert. Joaquin seems to enjoy the view.

Kodi spent so much time in my office, on the day bed. Because of this, yesterday I’d catch myself believing he was in the other room. I’d listen for the click of his nails on the floor as he’d emerge.
