Why isn’t @paulinehansonoz.bsky.social being charged and jailed under the new hate laws? Brandan Koschel got 12 months, less than what he deserves.

From primary school to the UN, we’re all humans in a climate crisis, says Jen. It addresses our reptilian brain. Colonialism, capitalism, all of the -isms sever our relationshoos. How do we proceed without being maladapted? Fundamentalism? Nihilism? No: activism. Know where the joy is. Go. #FACT2026

Keep the joy and be celebratory - Jen Rae
Agree that this has been missing from the climate change approaches in museum programs
Visitors want to see the joy, see the beauty and be positively inspired to act (my research has found this)

But there is an irony juxtaposing this point with the next #FACT2026 panel on Climate, Culture & Technology. How is climate sustainability built into GLAM sector mega-projects?

Instead the Centre for Reworlding has created Bilya, with thanks to our collaborator @clairegcoleman.bsky.social for this name. Bilya maps the relationships so you find who you need #FACT2026

A photo of syrus ware and his bio: Syrus Marcus Ware is a Vanier Scholar, visual artist, activist, curator, and educator. Using painting, installation, and performance, Syrus works with and explores social justice frameworks and Black activist culture. Syrus will be co-leading sessions focused on disability justice, abolition and speculative futures within a climate emergency, disaster and collapse context.
Katia Tynan is a leader and relationship-builder who currently leads the Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction team at the City of Vancouver. Katia will be co-leading sessions focused on connecting policy with community-based solutions for climate adaptation.
Dawn Weleski co-founded Conflict Kitchen, a take-out restaurant serving cuisine from countries in conflict with the U.S. Their art practice tests cultural norms, transforming protests and public offices into social stages. Dawn will be co-leading sessions focused on mutual aid, speculative futuring, and creative methods for working with equity-denied communities and transgressive learners.
The Creative Resilience Lab will be so fun-!!! We will be gathering and world and future building in the context of disaster, abolition, preparedness and revolutionary and systems change. Part of a larger gathering on #abolition at the university in April!
