True artists will find a way to express themselves even if all they have are sticks and stones. The oft-mentioned ordering from a menu and calling yourself a chef analogy fits hand in glove here.

If you “require” a machine to make art then you’ve really got nothing to say on your own.

I think us Xers struck the best balance, computers weren‘t a thing till our teens and even so we couldn’t afford one until college. Then I got a career on IT and that covered the digital literacy part. Still think kids shouldn’t have brain-rotting smartphones until they’re like 15 or so.

AI sloppers might be able to fool the average layperson, but definitely not someone who knows, lives, feels and breathes storytelling — aka a truly competent, professional editor / agent.

And hopefully it stays that way. Art and storytelling are resonant projections of human emotions. 📚

Those who aren't really artists (aka AI-enabled posers) don't get that the struggles of the creative process ARE what keep us at it. Meaning comes from trying and failing at too many things. That's what resonates with people - the humanity within the art.

Some years ago I bought this special frame to display full 27"x 40" movie posters. Got some, mostly of animated films because it's hard to find a poster design that isn't corny / downright ugly.

Don't have a Zootopia 2 poster yet but no one tells me I can't put in this one. 🦊🐰

In almost 25 years of following your work, your general balance is more of a nice than not-nice person. We all have (and are kind of entitled to) not-nice days though. That's real life. 🦄🦊

I would be happy to visit grandpa‘s grave with you next time you can make it. 4-I MADE THE MOST OF THE NICE DAY AND RIDE MY BIKE TO WORK. Five – we dropped off Elliott to the airport for his trip to Mexico. Have a great time. Heather had to work so Zoey and I had a special lunch and then watched a movie. “ I see dead people.” 6-WE MAKE HOMEMADE PIZZA AND WATCH TV. We should choose an episode at random. Seven – late shift tonight. At a time for a bike ride. Eight – Heather and Zoey are off to Winnipeg for Thanksgiving. Have a good time! We wish you could come too. That night, I sit down and try to write some words for grandad‘s funeral. Nine catch up with Graeme. I feel like I’ve lost confidence in myself. You don’t show it. 10 – I feel low energy all day. I go out for after work drinks, but I’m really not in the mood and leave early.

For October I decided to draw one panel of a #comic per day. Here’s what I have so far.

I imagine people who are not into character design won't get why we get so obsessed with drawing our OCs over and over — it's because there's always room for improvement, to make something better, more appealing. I've been through this with my own creations.

She points her finger at her AI Parrot. > Gothic Sorceress: "Headmaster, I'm requesting to opt out of the Avian Intelligence program!" Panel 2. Shot on the desk of the Headmaster, an old wizard and his AI parrot, perched. He is deeply busy and his attention is fully absorbed on his paperwork, probably signing administrative stuff, giving a minimal attention to her. > Headmaster: "Not an option. Our investors say it's the future of magic." Panel 3. The Headmaster gestures grandly at a portal nearby him, while adjusting his glasses. The circular view into another dimension reveals a distorted, broken wonderland. Twisted trees shaped like cartoon elephant, architectures of towers with faces, and weird creatures with big nose, moustache, the body of fish and long leg ending by three fingers. The atmosphere is both fascinating and deeply unsettling. > Headmaster: "See? With mine I created this world in minutes. Not perfect, lots of small bugs, but it works... mostly." Panel 4: The young gothic student and the Headmaster stand before the dimension. She is skeptical with her hands on her hips, while the Headmaster seems tries to justify himself while thinking about it, the hand twisting a bit of beard on his chin. > Gothic Sorceress: "It's ugly and broken." > Headmaster: ""Vibe spelling", I call it.".

Mascot me asks: Do sons and daughters of artist parents really have it easier to become artists themselves?

After numbering 3-4 such cases among local friends, I had to ask.

My take: I think so, as they don't have to fight the stigma of the "starving artist". They see their parents working, bringing home the bacon and certainly not starving. Unlike those of us from different familiar backgrounds.

Well all of this sounds like a third rate mayor's fever dream and it wouldn't surprise me here, but from a place like Busan... Well s**t happens everywhere I see 🥲
