All our community managers are looking stylish in our new vests and hats to identify us as we do our work! We’re completing our final rounds of training sessions in Anjirobaka working with parents as they form their committees and learn new cooking techniques.

Each year we meet with every partner village for health and sanitation training, electing local program leaders and cooking demonstrations. The techniques we learned from Chef Roland this summer are being shared with over 1,000 parents so our meals are even tastier during the 2026 program season!

Community is the heart of what we do. Feeding children takes a village! Our team put together a video showcasing our approach with our partners in Ambongamaneno and Manakambahiny schools. We’re so excited to be back with our partners for the 2026 season!!

It’s almost time to plant in preparation for the 2026 season. Our team created a video that gives an overview of our gardening courses for village growers. This is just one example of the months of careful preparation we do so we can nourish our children!

School lunches during the hungry season is the flagship part of our program, but so much more goes into ensuring the children at our partner schools are properly nourished throughout the year. It’s truly a community effort.

We’re growing — literally! Our growers program has 153 local farmers who have committed to grow vegetables for our upcoming season!! We’ve finished our initial agricultural training sessions and seeds will be distributed in the coming weeks.

Healthy food requires clean water! September is the driest month and the time when we maintain the wells at our partner schools (when the water table is low, the maintenance crew can climb down to do repairs).

Our farmers are ready to begin planting in a few weeks. They will be doing their part to address the food insecurity that will arrive in their community in the coming months. Nourish Madagascar buys at least 10% of its produce from local growers.

As we prepare for the 2026 season, our team is working hard with our partners at the Ministry of Education to make sure our program meets the students needs. We present a short video about last week’s meetings and discussions. Enjoy!

Our Leadership Conference is in full swing with discussions about communication, health and hygiene, nutrition and how to best work with our village partners. A special thanks to Tojo Rahirinirainy and Dr Alain Rambolamanana for offering their expertise!

Yesterday we started our 2nd annual leadership conference! Our front line leaders are discussing last year’s challenges, learning new skills and preparing for 2026 and beyond.

We were happy to receive representatives from the Ministry of Education in Alaotra-Mangoro Region (DREN) last week at all our partner schools.

The rolling start of *all* of our partner schools is starting! That’s 2,000+ children eating each day and 300+ volunteers getting up early to make it happen. Our Community and and Health Managers, Data Analysts, and Inspectors are making sure it all goes to plan.

Our programs are true partnerships with each community. We provide training and funding for the meals, parents volunteer, and each child brings a stick of firewood for cooking. Together we fed over 600 children today!

Our 2025 season is here and we’re on track to feed 2,000 children nearly 100,000 meals this lean season. We need your support!
