The entrance to submitting articles to journals and open access admin is mildly scary - not gonna lie.
Feel like I need a PhD in publishing articles to publish articles from my PhD ๐ฌ

But you didn't sign Watson. So small mercies. They probably should've hung on to Flacco. Jones will be benched by Thanksgiving - at the latest.

19.08.2025 09:34 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is only slightly more annoying than when I got to the airport a few years ago to discover my AirPods were not actually in the case...
18.08.2025 16:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0An afternoon of transcription derailed because the better half took my AirPods (with her AirPods) to work. Neither were required whilst she has been pulling teeth out of horses...! Sigh.
18.08.2025 16:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ultra-processed foods are THE debate in nutrition right now, so you'd figure a new randomized control trial on UPFs would get lots of attention. But this study in Nature Medicine has only gotten modest coverage -- probably because it's findings are not so scary. THREAD

Split decision. On the one hand it's been fun trawling away for different countries policies on plant synthetic biology. On the other, I've just found a website dedicated to tracking said policies... I guess at least I have the background to sense check the tracker...

Discovering that navy cadets I was researching had died in WWI or WWII during my masters research, I found distinctly challenging and emotional. Even though they would've died long before my research anyway!
It has been a day of trawling US policy documents and so many have file names ending "FINAL." And you know somewhere, someone has a multitude of other files for the document named things like "v.1.4" "Final Final" "v.2" and "FINAL_absolutely_the_last_one"
