The Eurasian siskin is a small finch, measuring about 11-12,5 cms in length. Despite its size, is extremely active and agile, often seen acrobatically hanging upside down while feeding. Im Vordergrund liegt ein kreisförmiger Bereich im Watt, der von Wasser umgeben ist und eine dunkle, schlammige Struktur zeigt. Der Himmel ist von warmen Farben durchzogen, mit einem tiefstehenden Sonnenball links und feinen Wolkenstreifen. Die Wattlandschaft spiegelt das Licht und zeigt zahlreiche kleine Wasserflächen und Schlickinseln. Die Szene vermittelt den Eindruck von Weite und Ruhe, wobei das runde Element im Watt und die runde Sonne am Himmel die Komposition bestimmen.
