1. For the past thirty years I've had the best job in the world.

I've had the opportunity to follow my curiosity; explore the workings of nature and society; mentor students and junior colleagues in the same process; and teach generations of students about it all.

I'm one of your constituents- I am hoping you will vote no on the CR and no on cloture, even if it causes a shutdown.

Map of the United States displaying hydrogen ion wet deposition levels from measurements taken in 1985 by the Central Analytical Laboratory. The map uses a color gradient from green (low deposition) to red (high deposition) to show varying levels of H+ deposition (kg/ha). The highest deposition levels are concentrated in the northeastern U.S., while the western U.S. has the lowest levels. Black dots indicate measurement locations. The map is sourced from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program/National Trends Network

Map showing hydrogen ion wet deposition measurements across the United States and parts of Canada, indicating values in kg/ha for 2022. The color gradient represents different concentration levels, with a scale on the right. Sites not pictured are listed at the bottom. The map is mostly green, indicating that H+ deposition is no longer a environment issue that it once was.

Another dataset I like is from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program, which has maps of the US that show we fixed the acid rain problem by implementing stricter emission controls on power plants.

End of Term Web Archive The End of Term Web Archive is a collaborative initiative that collects, preserves, and makes accessible United States Government websites at the end of presidential administrations.

If you aren't already aware of it, I think you might be interested in the Internet Archive's "end of term archive" of government websites eotarchive.org

Everything is moving so fast! Glad to hear Sen. Cantwell did the right thing on this (I'm a Washingtonian too!)

How Each Senator Voted to Confirm Russell T. Vought as Budget Chief The Senate voted 53 to 47 to confirm Russell T. Vought β€” an architect of the ultraconservative Project 2025 policy agenda β€” to lead the White House budget office.

Thanks Senator Murray! Please keep up the good work! As a lifetime WA resident, I'm also concerned about Joe Kent as a nominee for head of ODNI's NCTC. His politics were considered too extreme for WA's 3rd District which calls into question his ability to do this sensitive job in an unbiased manner.
