These people who have been good neighbors in our communities and have worked and paid taxes, who wanted a better life for themselves and their children are being disappeared without due process.

It started in Sackets Harbor and other places in NY24 and now here we are in Cato and Oswego with children having no mothers.

Approximately 20 women were taken to the Border Patrol Station in Oswego. Organize Oswego mobilized and their members held 24-hour watch through the night in the rain to bear witness.

It was also the first day of school. Teachers began to quickly understand what the ramifications would be for many of their students. It is said that some went home to no parents, some were taken in by caring teachers.

They separated the 150 workers out to those who were Hispanic and those not. The non-Hispanic workers were released and the 70 Hispanic workers were put in vans and taken away. Most of them were women.

Oswego and Cato had experienced an assault on their neighbors. ICE was assisted by both Cayuga and Oswego County sheriff's deputies. Over 50 federal agents raided a business.
