I'd like a green burial. Preferably my body wrapped in woollen shroud. No coffin for me. I hope my people will line my woodland grave with straw, branches, herbs & flowers. Then lower my body & nestle it on top. Don't be scared of my body's outline.

A large green waxed jacket that belonged to our dead dad.
This is a true story about unexpected, mundane legacy & pleasingly dull personal artefacts.
It charts an activity we found ourselves doing a few months after Dad died, but a thing that was weirdly engaging & comforting. A little adventure.

Medical Assistance in Dying
We will be joined by two guest speakers from Dying with Dignity Canada who will lead us through the choices that come up around accessing medical assistance in dying. In Canada (and likely elsewhere), there are important concerns tied to the way MAiD is made available while other life-saving supports are not. Although the presentation will not focus on these aspects, the presentation will be followed by discussion where we can ask questions and share experiences about MAiD and how it relates to our lives. Expect engaging discussions and a supportive community to share your thoughts and experiences.
This session is for people curious about MAiD, who are considering it for themselves, or with loved ones who have accessed or applied for MAiD.
On zoom with closed captioning. Hosted by Tiana Dargent of Queer Community Deathcare

black and white floral greenhouse background image - large white letters read “death care as resistance”
in death care, we see abolitionist practices in end of life autonomy, rejecting oppressive institutions and centering care in grief.
how do you envision death care as an act of resistance?
