Derby day nerves have kicked in. What I wouldn’t give for a quick start, and a comfortable lead right early on. Not gonna happen I know.

An excellent 3 points today and good overall team performance. Frustrating first half, not getting the ball out to the wings quick enough and those out there not willing to try go by anyone. Much better in the 2nd half though.

Match of the day do the same format but they pause between replays or stop the action to highlight whatever point the pundit is trying to make. The sport scene coverage outside the highlights of the games is just a mess.

It’s a pet hate. The post highlights replays packages move too quick for anyone to comment on them too. They’ll start their point on the first replay, and by the time they’ve made their point, the footage has moved on to about the 4th highlight.

Sportscene post game analysis is such a waste of time. All these wee graphics, dots following runs, random areas being shaded on the pitch, arrows pointing then not one pundit comments on them so it all makes no sense at all.

… having seen the highlights, and now also seen the stats, it maybe wasn’t as bad as I first thought. Majority of goals were certainly avoidable. Yes, there should have been a hand ball call, but also Motherwell should have had a penalty for Stephenson clattering someone instead of clearing…

Our goal kicks are doing my head in at the moment. If we are playing it long, why is Gallagher standing right next to Walton, playing the world onside?

Honestly don’t know what to make of the game today. At the match, I thought Gallagher was very poor, Middleton doesn’t work in that formation as he can’t defend, and like last week, changes were too late. But….

How to car insurance companies justify knocking huge amounts off a renewal quote for the same product, just because you call them to say you’re thinking of leaving? Chancers the lot of them. Offer the cheapest quote they can off the bat and maybe there would be more loyalty.

Absolutely this. Very frustrating to watch, we were most effective going forward on the break at the start of the season and some of last, we miss so many opportunities by holding the ball up, either with the goalie or unnecessary passes at the back. We were misfiring all over the park yesterday.

And finally… changed could have been made at half time, SHOULD have been made after an hour, and certainly needed to be made before we did. That’s on Goodwin who has generally been good at that sort of thing. Hopefully a lesson learned there.

On the plus side though, we played badly and didn’t lose, which is a good sign. Important to get a positive result against Motherwell next week given the run of games on the horizon.

Adegboyega and Stephenson were a wee bit dodgy in places, particularly in the first half, but grew into it a wee bit. Crossing… not seen crossing and corners that bad for a while, needs ALOT of work. No arguments about the penalty, tho did think dalby had a shoot for him being wiped out.

Thoughts on today.. painful to watch, weather didn’t help but lumping the ball forward aimlessly certainly wasn’t the solution. Decent first 10 mins or so where we should have scored at least 1, but downhill from there. Moult and Dalby are too similar, everyone didn’t play great, and passing poor.

I’m no big fan of XG as a stat, but it does show the quality of chances created.. and that tells its own story today…

I’m in the George fox, so didn’t even see the first one other than holt had gone down to be honest, but seeing it on telly, I just don’t get how it can be argued it’s not a pen. The Walton one I didn’t even consider endangering an opponent at the game tbh.

Thoughts from today. Poor to watch obviously, but stephenson and adegboyega were excellent, subs did well, and babunski isn’t great in his starting position, needs to be more central. Still, 3pts, so I’m a happy camper.

I’m amazed they didn’t try find a reason why the 2nd goal should have counted. McCann(t) having to praise united in the round up through gritted teeth was quite amusing tho.

The only one that’s maybe debatable is the Walton red card, it could be argued it was reckless, but not a goal scoring opportunity. Unlike st mirrens red which was definitely that. And Holt was kicked for the 1st penalty clearly.

Sportscene pundits saying united shouldn’t have had either penalty, no red card for st mirren, and Walton should have been sent off. What game were they pretending they watched?!

45 mins and still counting. Slowly losing the will… the message should be THE advisor will answer as soon as possible and not AN advisor, as I’m convinced there just the one person picking up calls.

46 years on this planet and today is the first time I’ve had to get in touch with the HMRC. My advice is… don’t… just don’t. 31mins holding and counting. It was a good 3 mins of recorded messages before they had me screaming my NI number over and over at the automated voice.
