Tuning ubiquitin transfer by RING E3 ubiquitin ligases through the linchpin residue
RING family ubiquitin ligases (E3s) employ the RING domain to recruit the E2 thioester ubiquitin (E2βΌUb) intermediate to catalyze the transfer of ubiquitin (Ub) to substrates. A cationic Arg linchpin ...
We worked with Danny Huang from @cruk_si to study cancer-linked linchpin mutations affecting protein ubiquitination. Proteins were analysed with Xray crystallography & NMR to reveal how binding changes activity. doi.org/10.26508/lsa... @lsajournal.org #WorldCancerDay @uofgmvls.bsky.social

Cancer-associated fibroblasts produce matrix-bound vesicles that influence endothelial cell function
Protein transfer through matrix-bound vesicles from CAFs enhances monocyte adhesion to endothelial cells.
Cancer-associated fibroblasts send vesicles that shape blood vessels and immune responses, aiding tumour growth. We provided electron microscopy to capture these detailed mechanisms. www.science.org/doi/epdf/10.... #WorldCancerDay @uofgmvls.bsky.social
