The weather is crappy.
Might as well practice.

A Caballo is the rhythm du jour. I've previously posted a video of this groove, but at the time, I was playing it in two congas. With the addition of a third conga, I have the relearn it.

Today's #rhythm is Timba!
This rhythm is a derivative of folkloric Cuban music and sacred Santeria songs. In modern times, non Cuban music (jazz, rock, soul, funk, etc) have been fused to this rhythm, giving it a more modern and lively sound.

Today's rhythm halls from Puerto Rico and was created by the rural mountain folk of the island. This music has influences from Africa, Spain and Taino peoples. The accompanying dance is called Seis Chorreao (six couples dance), and eventually becomes very fast and much more lively.

Today's #rhythm was created by the Cuban pianist and composer Bebo Valdez by incorporating sacred Bata drums into a Big Band jazz setting, thus creating the Batanga rhythm. What I'm playing is a variation that was created by the legendary Cuban percussionist Josรฉ Luis Quintana, aka Changuito.

Today's #rhythm was created by #cuban #percussionist Miguel "Anga" Diaz. Marcha is a common rhythm in Afro-Cuban #music that is generally played on 1 or 2 congas, however Anga Marcha is generally played on 5 congas. Since I lack 2 more congas, I'm here doing my best with 3.
