The law has always been a toothless tiger.

I enjoyed having lunch with you a couple years ago in Boston. Come back and we’ll do it again!

I remember being taught a song in elementary school in February. I only remember the hook. β€œWashington and Lincoln helped make our country great. And when their birthdays come around, we like to celebrate!”

And on the ride home, I hopped a commuter train at S Station to get to my car in Braintree. Conductor gave me the stinkeye when I showed my T-Pass. She reluctantly let me ride "this time."

Yup. Yesterday was the first test after all the upgrades and improvements. The T failed the test. Both mechanical, and communications. If the system goes south, they have to do a better job letting customers know what's happening. I had to book an Uber from JFK to WBUR to get to work.

I've been away all this week visiting relatives in Lima, Peru, where it's summer, monitoring all the things I'll be coming home to. The least of which is a foot of snow on Saturday.

In the olden days, a federal judge would hand down the ruling, and that ruling would be enforced by the United States Department of Justice. Now the DOJ is probably trying to figure out a way how to prosecute the judge.

They'll kick in the 25th on 1/21/27, giving Vance one day shy of two years in office. That way he can run for two complete terms, and serve 10 years.

Fifty years ago this week, Bob Dylan rolled into Plymouth - Plymouth Independent I’m in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, standing near a landmark. Not Plymouth Rock or the Mayflower II, but a cluster of trees where Bob Dylan posed for the cover of his β€œDesire” album in late October 19...

Only Dylan album I own. Got it soon after it came out because "Hurricane" was getting a lot of airplay back then. I learned later that the cover photograph was taken in Plymouth, Mass, in the little waterfront park next to Plymouth Rock.

My late father was a car salesman (new and used). There are honorable car salesman, and my dad was one. I know what you're driving at (pun intended) but please don't besmirch them all.

My Dad worked in Plymouth back in the late '60's through 1977. He took us to all the great restaurants of the time, Dern-McGrath's, Ernie's, and Bert's. All were good, but I think Bert's was my favorite.

Long Island Viaduct, Long Ago The bridge was a metaphor for the connection we on the mainland had with those served by the programs on Long Island: It was shaky. It was tenuous. But at least it was there.

I remember going out to Long Island Hospital every week from 1963-1968. My mother, grandfather and aunt would visit my grandmother. I'd stay in the parking lot with my father because I was too young to go inside. Video brings back many memories. www.wbur.org/cognoscenti/...

I remember Michael Dukakis backing a health care for all proposal during his last term as MA Guv late 1980’s. Democratic legislature and Romney got it past the finish line early 2000’s. Model for ACA 2008-2010
