Strategically this makes sense for #Broadcom to provide #VMware #Fusion for free, attempting to keep users in the #VMware ecosystem. We're bombarded with options for migrating away our #vmx format #VirtualMachines. #VMMigration away from #VMware has been full tilt since the #Broadcom acquisition.

One disappointment related to this (aside from the general way #Broadcom has approached the #VMware acquisition), it further signals less commitment to these products going forward. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Will #Broadcom nurture these "free" products the way #Oracle does with #VirtualBox?

Having used #VMware #Fusion for many years, this is welcomed news.

As the @theregister.com mentions, it's not #OpenSource and my stance on #VMware for the past 10 years is #ESXi should be #OpenSource.

If folks are already using #VirtualBox (which is fantastic), doubt they will care about this.

Also, part of the reason we did bought InfoWars is because people on Bluesky told us it would be funny to buy InfoWars. And those people were right. This is the funniest thing that has ever happened.
