Whether this is an actual bro-mance or something a little more transactional, the increasingly warm relationship between Trump and Gianni Infantino seems like noteworthy context for FIFA's announcement today that it will begin awarding an annual peace prize.

If #Jets are inclined to trade Breece, but only for the right price, Sunday's game turned out perfectly. He looked good enough to possibly convince another team to pony up for him, & NY's win takes the monkey off its back and could relieve internal pressure to keep him while in search of that W.
27.10.2025 00:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You may be aware that the World Series is about to get going. You may not be aware that the questions in this week's sports quiz are all related to World Series in one way or another. Well, now you know for sure, so by all means take the quiz!

Biiiiiiiig NBa news today, and very much of the kind the league does not want. It feels like there will be much more to come from this story, the first installment of which is being handled this morning by my great colleague Rick Maese.

From our Mark Maske:
The NFL said in its officials' training tape sent to teams this week the Eagles should have been called for false-starting on the tush push Sunday against the Chiefs, instructing officials to call βthese plays tight."...

Oh man, someone said they should be called the "No-Showtime" Clippers.
That just might stick.
Quiz No. 2 is up now, so by all means give it it a go. We got some feedback that last week's was a little too tough, so I tried to add a couple more layups in this one (although my editor actually took out a major hint in one question, making it a bit trickier)

If you have a couple of minutes and want to test your sports knowledge, try our quiz! It's a new feature we're rolling out today, one we hope entertains (or edutains, as the case may be) readers while providing a glimpse at the weekly sports landscape.

If you're doing a fantasy draft this weekend, then you're going to want a little guidance. May I point you toward my draft tiers? Just the thing to help you make navigate the vexing decisions that crop up about which position to target, and when.

As always, when it comes to my fantasy football drafts, I practice what I preach. (Doesn't always work out, it should be noted, but at least I mean what I say with my rankings.)
23.08.2025 22:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'll echo what so many who have worked directly with Sally have already said: she is not only brilliant but a hell of teammate. Great get for the Atlantic.
Just a reminder, though, as (again) many have already noted: there is A LOT of talent left in the WaPo Sports dept.
The Post Sports section bids more farewells, with Cindy (and the great Alexa Steele) following Steinberg out the door. As with Dan, Cindy takes a pioneering history in the blogging (for lack of a better term) game with her, and she'll be missed. I've loved (almost) every minute of working with her.

Kent Babb is always a must-read, so you know what you need to do here:

If it feels like just yesterday that the NBA was still in the midst of its 2024-25 season, that's because it almost literally was. Which raises a question ...
www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...
Alrighty then, guess we're really going to test my belief that I could listen to these two read the proverbial phonebook
13.06.2025 00:53 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0apologies, make that the max *11* WRs. Some folks will definitely be doing that
05.06.2025 21:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0also, WRs don't generally score as much as RBs in this format, but you know there are going to be some members of the FF intelligentsia absolutely loading at WR and starting the max 9 as much as possible
04.06.2025 21:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Brock Bowers and Trey McBride look like kingpins here, but drafting them doesn't necessarily confer an enormous positional advantage, since other teams don't have to have a TE at all
04.06.2025 21:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Cara cara oranges nicely answer the question: What if grapefruits were a little smaller and a lot more delicious?
04.06.2025 20:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Game in a nutshell: at one end, the Knicks run an iso for Landry Shamet (?), who predictably can't create a good look for himself, leading to a runout and a wide-open three for Pascal Siakam, who drains it. NY needs to focus on creating open threes, but that's not their style under Thibs.
28.05.2025 02:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Should have mentioned this earlier, too, but good lord are the Knicks killing themselves with turnovers. No one but Brunson should be putting any amount of dip on their chip with these passes (especially Hart), which never end well for NY. Pacers continue to get good contributions from their depth.
28.05.2025 02:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0On cue, Robinson grabs a couple of boards and the Knicks get points out of it.
28.05.2025 01:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0All sorts of issues for NY, including Brunson getting badly outplayed by Haliburton, but it would really help if Robinson would start dominating on the glass, as opposed to being a relative non-factor, and if KAT could shoot more threes.
28.05.2025 01:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In Game 4, the Knicks are indeed shooting better from 3 (41% atm) but Indy has been better from deep so far (45%) and, more importantly, NY again is trying to make a bunch of tough shots while the Pacers appear far more capable of creating easy looks.
28.05.2025 01:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0NY doesn't look capable of really putting the clamps on Indy's offense, so it's going to have to shoot better from three if it wants to get back into this series. Through two games, the Knicks have made just 22 of 66 (33%) from deep, compared to 28 of 67 (41.8%) for the Pacers.
24.05.2025 02:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Knicks are hanging around, but man, it feels like all their shot attempt are tough ones (even if some are going down, thanks mostly to Brunson's brilliance), while the Pacers are consistently generating much easier looks.
24.05.2025 02:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Wizards can simply never catch a break. And you'll never believe this, either, but a premier NBA prospect is heading to the Western Conference.
