Right after the Bears drafted Luther Burden, @peterbukowski.bsky.social sent this text about D.J. Moore. He was right.

With Emanuel Wilson set to hit free agency, the Packers will likely need a new No. 2 running back. That player might already reside on their roster.
For @theleap.bsky.social: Green Bay might already have Josh Jacobs' backup (and it might not be MarShawn Lloyd).

Chris Brooks agreed to a two-year, $4.85 million deal to stay with the Packers, but his role in Green Bay has largely been as a blocking back and special teamer.
The matter of Josh Jacobs' backup in 2026 remains unresolved. I wrote about it today for @theleap.bsky.social.
Trent McDuffie is a valuable player, but this trade also speaks to how the league views the incoming cornerback class.

Bobby Okereke has warts as a player. Still, if the Packers want an experienced "Mike" linebacker to take Quay Walker's spot without sacrificing a comp pick, he's a reasonable option.
04.03.2026 01:34 — 👍 11 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0As expected, the Packers have officially opted not to use their franchise or transition tags on any players.

The Falcons won't tender Malik Heath, per Jeremy Fowler.
He spent most of the past three seasons with the Packers.
Rich Bisaccia just signed an extension before the 2025 season. He ranked among the highest-paid special-teams coordinators.
His reasons for stepping down remain unclear, but he was well compensated in Green Bay. He also didn't have to recruit.
Rich Bisaccia leaving the Packers for the same role at Clemson is odd. He broke into the NFL in 2002 and stayed there for 24 years. Not common for a coach like that to return to college, especially in this environment.
He has experience at Clemson and South Carolina, but still.
Marshon Lattimore has missed seven or more games in each of the last four seasons. He turns 30 in May.
While he wouldn't affect the Packers' comp-pick return, that seems like an unlikely pairing.
Juice Scruggs has mostly served as a backup despite entering the league as a second-round pick.
Given that David Montgomery was probably on his way out of Detroit anyway, this is a buy-low attempt by the Lions.
The Packers have officially named Cam Achord as their new special-teams coordinator.

The Packers' free agents could potentially generate premium comp picks for the team, and combine week has only amplified expectations.
For @theleap.bsky.social: Let's talk about the comp picks Green Bay could get, and why they might not fall where fans expect.

The Colts have given Anthony Richardson permission to seek a trade, per ESPN's Stephen Holder.
I wrote about Richardson earlier this week and why I don't see him as a Packers reclamation project.

I don't know if Rueben Bain's arms (officially 30.875 inches) will keep him from having a productive NFL career. There isn't really precedent for edge rushers with such short arms going early in the draft, good or bad.
For context, Micah Parsons' arms are 32.5 inches.
It's not about Trent Williams' next deal but rather him filling a key opening that would meaningfully reduce the demand for Rasheed Walker.
There could be (and likely will be) enough money for both. But if Walker's market is really driven by one or two teams, then Williams could change that market.
If the 49ers do cut Trent Williams as Adam Schefter's report suggests, that could have an impact on Rasheed Walker's suitors in free agency. That, in turn, could plausibly affect the comp pick the Packers could get for him next offseason.
Still early, but worth monitoring.
Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan on Packers QB Malik Willis:
"Any team in a quarterback-needy situation that tells you they're not talking about Malik Willis, that would be a lie."
The combine begins later this week, and the Packers have much more on their to-do list than just scouting the corners and defensive linemen.
I wrote for @theleap.bsky.social about one of Green Bay's offseason priorities that hasn't garnered enough attention.

I survived this one as well.

The Packers have hired Will Redmond as a college scout.
As my mentions from earlier pointed out, this is NOT the same Will Redmond who played in Green Bay from 2018 to 2021.
NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah thinks there are "good options" along the interior offensive line in the second and middle rounds where the Packers have draft picks.
Jeremiah also thinks the cornerback depth is deep enough to potentially wait until the third round or later.
The Packers can reasonably expect their guard play to improve in 2026 (Aaron Banks spent much of 2025 hurt, Anthony Belton was a rookie learning a new position).
However, even with a significant jump for one or both, they could still land in the NFL's bottom half.

Our story on the big Rich Bisaccia news for anyone who missed it last night:

After four seasons in Green Bay, Rich Bisaccia has stepped down. His exit raises several questions, and not merely about who will replace him as special-teams coordinator.
For @theleap.bsky.social: The Bisaccia era is over. What's next for the Packers?
www.theleap.football/p/the-rich-b...
"… Rich was a tremendous resource to me and our entire coaching staff who had a profound impact on our players and our culture throughout the building."
