FLASH: Americans HAVE BEEN KILLED & injured in Trump's War with Iran but as he said dismissively, "That often happens in war."

There's much to say about what's going on, but what strikes me the most is just how embarrassing he is. The guy who launched an illegal attack that will lead to war and the likely destabilization of much of the Middle East for no real reason is posting like a middle schooler struggling with English.

Chris Murphy: "We need to stand up for the American citizens that ICE is murdering, the kids they're terrorizing. They should stop this illegal war and they should stop ICE from terrorizing our communities. We should demand they do both things."

Rep. Mike Turner: "They had continued their intention to pursue nuclear enrichment. Their intention had not been abolished. They remained a threat."

Ted Cruz: "I have no indication they were anywhere close to getting nuclear weapons"

Seems like the emerging policy is: you people out there are responsible for setting up your own governments, but if the US doesn’t like who ends up in charge we’ll just assassinate or kidnap them and then the ball is back in your court.

The fact that a question like this even has to be asked is itself remarkable:

The White House has communicated so little about the offensive in Iran — its rationale, its goals, its scope, etc. — that there’s ambiguity about whether the United States is currently at war.

This is just completely incoherent. He’s throwing around words like “intention” and “imminent” to pretend like there’s a justification for all of this.

We're now living in a retirement community dictatorship. Trump's making war from his Florida vacation home absent compliance with the Constitution or an effort explain his war of choice to the American people. Trump may pay a huge political price for such an illegal, and casual, use of our military.

John Roberts has created “immunity” as this thing that can be tossed around. If Iranian soldiers are defending themselves they commit no crime. If they have committed war crimes, Americans can’t “immunize” them.

this is fucking shocking, and while i know politics journalists think it's cliché to point this out, a democratic president would be impeached for delivering this speech in this way, and rightly so.
