I've used progressive lenses for a few years, and it's really nice to see both near and far with the same glasses. BUT, since i'm on a computer all day i also got a single vision pair optimized for monitor use, and that's much nicer than bobbing my head around while working at the same distance.

Dad's dad: farmer, ran the family farm past 100 years since its founding but saw no future in it and pushed all their kids to college and other careers.

Mom's dad: high school band teacher, taught some later famous musicians, after retirement played with the Shriner's Oriental band.

I can imagine an early Who concert where the audience singing "you are forgiven" is on par with an audience at a Mountain Goats show singing This Year.
