God, I’ve never seen people so eager to hasten their own obsolescence.

Cover of Abolitionist Intimacies: Queer and Trans Migrants Against the Deportation State by Eithne Luibheid. Features art by Karla Ross. The gradient background transitions from red-orange to golden-yellow. Surrounding the title text are illustrations of people in a wreath-like formation. The figures share edge-lines, which emphasizes their interconnectedness. At the top of the composition, two individuals hold broken chains above their heads. Small orange butterflies flutter among the people. At the bottom center of the composition, a monarch butterfly with a Black power fist in between its wings serves as a striking focal point.
In her new book "Abolitionist Intimacies," Eithne Luibhéid talks about how queer, trans, & other marginalized migrants experience deportation. Read a Q&A with her on the blog today.

ICE is offering up to $50,000 in signing bonuses to recruit 10,000 new agents in 2025.
The new campaign includes student loan forgiveness and enhanced retirement benefits.
If successful, ICE would become the largest federal law enforcement agency in the nation.
The effort is backed by the One Big Beautiful Bill and promoted by DHS and Secretary Kristi Noem.
Recruitment is targeting cities, college campuses, and law enforcement communities nationwide.
Guess who is eligible for #StudentLoanForgiveness? First responders? Healthcare workers? Teachers?
No.
#ICE agents.
Your tax dollars at work.

Another ICE "assault" case unravels. Border Patrol and ICE are arresting US citizens and then after they find out that they are US citizens, they are charging them with "assault" to justify their actions. This is clearly DHS policy at this point. We've seen it repeatedly now.

A compx at #Socialism2025 said the billionaires’ plan for climate collapse is genocide & all of this is practice & normalization of that reality.
I knew that but now it’s on repeat in my head.
We need to act accordingly, including by uprooting the criminalization at the heart of that process.

So, an ICE rep has now explicitly testified in court that they assembled a "Tiger Team" in early 2025 to compile a list of student protesters on the *Canary Mission* website to target for deportation.
I guarantee Canary Mission is also the reason I was denied entry to the US.

Top Trump officials repeatedly lied about Kilmar Abrego Garcia—remember when JD Vance called him a "high-level gang member in MS-13"?—long after the administration knew it had no evidence for such claims. And they kept trying to smear him even as they lied about his circumstances in El Salvador.

Why Are Protesters in Mexico City Angry at Remote Workers?
Massive tourism is a huge problem in many cities around the world. In addition to this, Mexico City is also suffering from a wave of remote workers who make rent and food more expensive for local people, using public services but not paying local taxes. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/07/w...

the core idea that can radicalize people is so simple:
there is enough.
there is enough food to feed everyone. enough resources to house everyone. money and technology and medicine to stop the suffering of people around the globe.
once you accept that there's only one question:
why don't we?
