In the foreground is my mushroom mug.
The lid is red with white spots like a Fly Agaric mushroom.
The mug part is cream with ridges.
It's on a dark brown wood desk.
In the background, there's a very colorful and bright Caribbean inspired rag rug.
You can see my meditation cushion and some of my fireplace with a Duraflame box underneath
I found this mushroom mug at the thrift store. It's my new favorite thing. π
I need to get some of that mushroom coffee to put in the mushroom mug π

Screenshot of Regence Prescription Cost overview. In the summary, it says the medicine costs $4,022 overall. Regence only covered $2,815.96 per their "Amount We Paid" line item. In both the line item "Amount you may owe," and in the line item "copay" in the next section called "What this means for my plan." The copay is $1,206.84
Apparently I need this med so I don't end up hypoxic, coughing, in bed for a year, ICU and week-long hospital stays...
...but I don't even have an income. And between Medicare Part B and Advantage, I pay almost $400/mo on premiums alone!
This is why insurance is evil. This is why people die πππ³

MLK Jr. said America suffers not just from "the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people."
Remember this.

A closeup photo of a book page pressed with the Ex Libris, and the stamps of the tool laying to the left.
An Ex Libris is a tool that uses two metal plates, often circular, that has something symbolic or establishes ownership.
In my case, it is a circle of text with my first and last name in the middle reading "ChrisTiana ObeySumner" in a cursive font.
The circle is broken into a block of text on as the top half, and one on the bottom half. This text is in all caps
The top half text reads: Ex Libris | From the Library of
The bottom half text reads without punctuation: Read it Love it Return it
No... Oh no
Y'all
I found my Ex Libris!
It was a bday gift all the way back in 2020 when I had money to do stuff like that.
I've lost it since 2022
But I FOUND it!
And I have so many books. Giddy doesn't even properly describe what I'm feeling.
I'm gonna be pressing EVERYTHING in this houseπ

We must proceed with termination and the appointment of an interim if we are to truly stand for what we say we believe in: Diplomacy, decorum, and following the rules and laws of our city, county, and state goverment -- Not our own.

No further explanation is required.
The Board has already taken reasonable and repeated steps to address concerns, and those efforts have been exhausted.
Continued employment is causing ongoing harm to the organization and its public trust.
The Boardβs responsibility now is to act.

This matter is not about further explanation or additional time.
It is about organizational stability and governance.
The appropriate action now is termination and the appointment of an interim.

At this point, continued employment is no longer in the best interest of the organization.
The public record reflects significant concern, the organization is experiencing ongoing negative impact, and the Board has a responsibility to act decisively.

The Board is not required to provide additional reasons or extend further opportunities prior to termination.
This action follows extensive prior efforts, including management intervention and internal review, which have not resolved the issues before us.

In an at-will state, the board does not vote on speculations and social-emotional reasons.
The board votes on the enacted laws, policies, facts, and rules as set by our city, county, and state.
For clarity to the Board and the public: this position is at-will under Washington law.

Thank you for asking! I realize that one line in a longer statement can be difficult to understand context. It can be misinterpreted too!
So I appreciate you asking because it prompted me to post my whole speech, which I didn't think of, but really should so people have all the context too π

It was REALLY bad. There are a lot of great board members that we lost due to all of this. It wasn't just the meetings and stuff either. It was anytime we had to interact with one of then - this person, those oddly hyper-protective enablers
That's why I said this is only one part of the bullshit

And to answer the other part of your question directly, Yes.
This speech was read right before we voted to release him, which was before the appointment of Interim.
So it was essentially my last plea to the Board that everything will be OK, and we're protected by these laws and policies

I have a clipboard for when I need a hard surface. It opens up and I can put office supplies in
I have a little expanding file folder for all the resource print outs and stuff. There's already things in it!

Photo of lecture binder. It is a soft rope basket with a binder, clipboard, a jar with pens and pencils, a file folder, and lots of different types of notebooks.
I printed the course and stuff, and the inside has like the syllabus, the 10 Principals, and filler paper to put notes with it's printed sheet. When I get some dividers, I can also start a running table of contents π
I started my "SuperVirgo Lecture bag",
I put it in this basket so I can have all the things I need to lock in on this.
I took pictures for my mom. I'll put some pictures here with more info in the ALT Text π

I'm sure a lot of the incorrigible stuff will come to light bc whew! So I won't say talk on those things.
I'll say this: There's so much more & I know it's likely worse, and in my opinion and while this was a huge progress point, the CEO isn't even 50% of the issue. There's a lot of work ahead

And I agree! Every other city board or commission I've been on has been recorded, at least in SOME way.
I know that my priority is getting things back on track with the RCW and Munipal Code, and see how we deal with known and confidently assumed violations. Like the basics, it was that bad

I used to live in social housing in AK and NJ. We were really housing unstable. I have a strong sentiment underlying my advocacy, fighting for housing justice, among other things, in Seattle since I moved here in 2010. I'll be dammed if I don't fight for its success faithfully and ferociously

To the world- Half of voters did not vote for Trump. Many who did are now turning against him. We don't support his policies & his actions are unAmerican. We are marching, we are protesting & we are asking our representatives to stop him. We will prevail. Don't give up on us.
