Entry sequence in Beijing differs based on the type of vehicle. Rigids generally board at the front though this doesn’t really seem to be enforced and there are readers at both doors. Artics board at the second door as that is where the conductor sits and exit through the front and rear.

The Route 71 BRT in Shanghai has boarding from the front and rear doors and alighting through the middle doors iirc.
