I had this on my right thigh a couple of years ago. I put Aspercreme with lidocaine on it and started taking alpha lipoic acid. The pain went away in a few weeks and hasn't come back. I'm still taking alpha lipoic acid. I have no idea what caused it, I'm just glad it's gone.
