In addition to being a star collegiate player, Kwesele played at the USL League Two level with the Tacoma Tide and Timbers U23s before gaining professional experience with FC Edmonton of the NASL.

is the Director of Coaching for Washington Youth Soccer’s EPD program, and he is the founder and director of The Rising Point.

As a player, Kwesele starred for Seattle Prep HS, walked on at Santa Clara, and then played at Seattle University. (2/3)

Before joining Ballard FC, Kwesele had extensive coaching experience at local youth clubs, coached High School Soccer at Rainier Beach, and spent two years with the Columbus Crew Academy.

We're thrilled to announce Mutanda Kwesele as the next Head Coach of Ballard FC! 🫡

For the last two seasons, Kwesele has been on the Ballard FC coaching staff as First Assistant Coach in 2024 and then Associate Head Coach in 2025. He now takes another step within the organization as Head Coach.

Already a Seattle soccer legend, James left a lasting legacy with the club during his tenure and we are proud to be part of his soccer story as it only continues to grow.

We thank James for his leadership and the incredible impact he has made on our players, staff, and community.

Because of the high standards we hold within the marketing team, we wanted to set the expectations that we wouldn’t cover the Open Cup Qualifiers at the same level and to the same extent as the regular season.

Richie served it up on a platter for his teammates to score all season long, leading the squad with 11 assists.

Ahead of his senior season, Richie’s been named one of the Top 100 NCAA D1 Players by TopDrawerSoccer and we can’t wait to see him keep flying down the wing!

Klutch Kosakoff ⚽️

With 9 goals in his final 9 matches, including 5 playoffs goals in just 5 playoff matches, Charlie Kosakoff is your 2025 leading scorer!

Kos came up big when needed most this season. He led us to the national final not just with his goals, but with complete performances up top.

He played wherever he was needed, leading the club in starts, appearances, and minutes on his way to putting the entire league on notice.

Abeselom Zemenfes - Western Conference Player of the Year

He showed up to open tryouts and impressed immediately, making the team over 90 other trialists. Then, he became an every-match starter and a fan favorite this summer.

IRON MAN 🦾

AB ran the show all season for us!

Whether in midfield or defense, he was absolutely immense this summer, playing in nearly every match on our run to the national final.
