how the last 8 months has felt

flying through the chapters written in the pov of the character I resonate with vs crawling on my hands and knees through the chapters written in the pov of the character who's nothing like me

thank god one of my ocs is literally the king of crashing out because whenever I am crashing out I just open that word doc and 1) something productive comes out of my feelings and 2) we're going through it together

i've actually started "messy drafting" aka writing bits and pieces and various scenes as they come to me rather than forcing myself to write linear drafts and forcing myself to "earn" getting to those scenes I really want to write and hmm...why did I not start doing this sooner

lots of feelings & I haven’t even gotten to the worst of it yet

my dearest doomed couple (I’m so normal about them)

spoiler alert: they do not have all the time in the world

and actually first person is my bread and butter but when I started writing fanfiction I learned it was SO hated so I trained myself to write in third and now that I have both in my wheelhouse I really have to think about what the right answer is and how much is just leftover bias from that

I hit this dilemma with literally every project, the first vs third pov decision is truly my curse

I just wrote an entire chapter in the wrong pov...worst part is it kind of works? now to decide if I change just this chapter back to third or if I switch the whole book into first

I know that first lines are supposed to pack a punch and set up the entire rest of the book so I always feel so much pressure in writing them! but these, I’m pretty happy with & I feel like they get the job done

the last two wips are told from dual povs so I decided to toss in the first lines of each narrators first chapter
