An ugly and sloppy game for the #Magic. They burn off five points in the final 40 seconds to erase a horrendous fourth quarter and steal a 115-114 victory over the #Mavs. Wendell Carter with the game-winner with 1.4 seconds left.

The #Magic might pull out a stunner. Jalen Suggs drains a three after the timeout. Cooper Flagg misses a jumper. Magic push and Suggs finds Carter for a dunk for the lead.

Paolo Banchero misses a pull-up three with the #Magic down one. Wendell Carter rebounds, but can't power up past Daniel Gafford. Cooper Flagg with a tough and-1 over Carter and the #Mavs are toasty right now.

Washington splits the free throws so the #Magic keep the lead. #Mavs are on a 12-3 run right now. #Magic are, again, 5/21 in the fourth quarter. Been a rough quarter and they have spent their cushion.

103-102 ORL, 3:25 4th

The #Magic are 5 for 21 from the field in the fourth quarter. A lot of good looks. Defense is keeping them in it. But fouling is giving the lead away. Washington to the line to tie the game.

103-101 ORL, 3:26 4th

The #Magic are getting some good looks from three but missing them horrendously this quarter. Really nothing in the paint. They have just six points in the paint. No free throw attempts. Still feels like players are driving to pass, not to score.

Penda has been fantastic on defense tonight. Really did a great job containing Cooper Flagg and showing him size while moving his feet. He has been great on the glass tonight too. But not enough offense for the #Magic right now with the #Mavs making a run.

Again, details. The #Magic want to be physical. But they have put themselves in the penalty with seven minutes to play. #Mavs have veteran guys in addition to Flagg. They are not going to go away (unless they bench them).

100-94 ORL, 7:05 4th

Cooper Flagg went for a highlight dunk well after the refs blew the whistle for an offensive foul. Goga Bitadze went to block the dunk. Flagg fell hard and the two teams had to be separated a bit. Nothing crazy. Just a rookie learning a lesson.

95-88 ORL, 10:13 4th

The #Magic turned the temperature of that game around with their defense. Got some good shotmaking too, going 4 for 10 from deep. But a late spurt from Klay Thompson keeps the #Mavs within striking distance despite giving up the lead. Magic lead 91-88 after three.

Moe Wagner takes his team-leading fifth charge (at least according to NBA Hustle Stats). Always thought we wouldn't declare Moe back until he was regularly taking charges again. He leads the team in them.

88-83 ORL, 1:10 3rd

Wendell Carter hits his fourth three since Feb. 1 (26 att.). Jalen Suggs gets fouled on a three for a four-point play. The energy in this game has flipped. #Magic aren't perfect, but their defense is much more locked in this quarter. Making shots helps.

82-77 ORL, 3:22 3d

The #Magic have their first lead of the game on a Jalen Suggs three. Paolo started the play by getting a steal back after a turnover.

Energy is much better even if the team is not crisp.

73-72 ORL, 5:30 3rd

That got some energy in the offense. Great quick drive from Paolo, he dumps it off to Carter for a dunk. He is fouled and makes both free throws to tie the game. Needed that energy.

70-70, 6:45 3rd

To that point. Jalen Suggs loses the ball trying to make a pass going to the rim and the #Mavs deflect it in. He ups his defense on Khris Middleton, knocks the ball away and draws a loose ball foul. Tech on Middleton. Bane technical free throw.

70-68 DAL, 6:55 3rd

The #Mavs have played a really good game and staked their lead on their hot early shooting. But they are going to make mistakes to let you back into the game. What the #Magic have to do is take advantage of those mistakes. They aren't so far.

The #Magic win a challenge to keep Carter on the floor and get the jump ball. What do they do with the free possession? Desmond Bane shoots a contested pull-up three early in the clock. He then fouls PJ Washington Jr. on a three in transition.

Desmond Bane tallied six points late in the second quarter to help the #Magic get going. But it has been a poor defensive effort from the start. Magic are grinding to stay in this one. #Mavs lead 62-60 at halftime.

It has been another rough game for Anthony Black. He is 1 for 8 tonight and 0 for 2 from three. Black is shooting 41.8 percent and 29.8 percent from three in the last 11 games (since Feb. 1).

62-56 DAL, 0:52 2nd

The #Mavs got some early blocks and the #Magic still aren't getting much of a whistle. It is leading to the team passing up shots in the paint and being afraid to attack the rim. #Magic just look a bit scared and hesitant on offense.

54-46 DAL, 3:49 2nd

Noah Penda has a lot of rough edges to his game that he will need to work on this summer. But the kid is absolutely fearless. Has made a lot of positive plays throughout his rookie year.

44-35 DAL, 7:53 2nd

The #Magic still seem subject to random defensive duds. This is one of them. The #Mavs made threes uncharacteristically, but they had so much more energy and movement. #Magic look asleep. #Mavs lead 33-26 after one quarter.

The #Magic are driving into bodies expecting to get a whistle. Whether it is right or not, the refs aren't giving them those fouls. Yet, the #Magic keep trying. Offense is all out whack. Very little ball movement or energy.

The #Mavs are shooting 32.2 percent on a league-low 26.7 3-point attempts per game in their last 15 games. So, of course, they are shooting 4 for 5 from deep to open the game before Klay Thompson checks in. #Magic struggling to find rhythm early.

Jamahl Mosley burns an early timeout. The #Magic have given up two early offensive rebounds. Getting outworked on the glass. They are top 10 in the league in DReb%, but have these games where they can't rebound. Easy way to lose this game.

Desmond Bane has one dunk this season. The #Magic got a steal near mid-court and tapped it ahead to Bane. He laid it up. The wait continues. #TeamDesDunk
