The rarest gift of all is having a normal conversation with me at work.

Nothing says totally private and secure like having your identity stolen and then repeatedly having to give that same information to strangers on the phone to prove who you are.
Is the data breach coming from inside the house?

New unfounded theory: Percy bored the fuck out of Mary Shelley with his magnet obsession. Frankenstein is a retaliatory work of both escapism and warning about being subjected to the pedantry of men.
I will accept no notes on this.

I see there are a number of people who have no spine and/or brains. That's neat.
You're not a good fit, and we'd like to go on a different direction. Please vacate the party.

Any AI argument where the premise is "Dont! It makes you dumb," without acknowledging that employers dgaf about your ability to read, absorb, & synthesize the snail mail way isn't worth entertaining. They care about output & reducing time to produce. Are you solving for the core problem? K.

Do more with less is the whole tech industry vibe until they realize they have too little and things start breaking.
It's like cutting your own bangs too short.
You want to glue those back on or wait?

Are younger generations lazy or are they bombarded with the relentless crush of expected output and productivity under capitalism so they're scrounging for leisure and a modicum of rest through shortcuts?

I'm curious about the reasoning behind approving WA Cares to be invested. We dump in an insane amount of our paycheck, way more than we'll ever be allowed to use if the need arises, and now we want to extra fund it? Why tho?

I've just gone on a journey on my day off to learn about the pedagogical benefits and drawbacks of sentence case headers in digital learning environments.

I can't take that academic opinion piece seriously when it's loaded with exaggerated rhetoric & slant more grandiose than a freshman writing their first paper.
Their language is imprecise, and they use a quote about jargon and cultishness, ignoring academia itself fosters cult behavior in faculty.

I ask sincerely: Why shouldn't teachers use AI to create lesson plans?
The argument against doesn't seem to be environmental. It seems like a position is that they should be original. But most lesson plans aren't original. Do they not trust the cognitive ability of educators? What's the argument?

As I'm training one right now, LLMs are like savant teenagers. Even when your queries are precise, they'll occasionally output something insane and wrong, but you have to know it's wrong. Then you can correct that, but will it abide the correction next time? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Furloughed feds pick up Seattle beach trash to keep serving the public Furloughed federal employees were out in the rain picking up cigarette butts, bottle caps, and other trash at Seattleโ€™s Golden Gardens Park on Friday.

Here in Seattle, furloughed NOAA employees were out in the pouring rain cleaning up beaches yesterday, part of a national week of service organized by federal workers who can't do their jobs due to the shutdown.

Story by @heyjohnryan.bsky.social at KUOW, our federally defunded public radio station.

I definitely wanted at least four seasons of a low-budget Jersey Shore but set in a West Wing-style setting on the world stage. Yeah. This is really doing it. Who needs an actual government when we have this? ๐Ÿ˜

After three interviews, you can ask questions, and we're going to "utilize" a test.
1. Try to stop me from asking questions to determine if your company is a fit for me before I put in more time.
2. Is the test revising your job description for clarity and accuracy?

Yes, it is. Sales taxes disproportionately impact lower and middle class families. Looking at you, Seattle. You aren't that stupid.

No. We sure do not. This is a yes or no. I don't need anyone to fix anything. I need someone who works at your company to understand the API you built. ๐Ÿ˜‘
