The idea of putting all of your connections into โ€œcirclesโ€ that you definedโ€”โ€œwork friendsโ€, โ€œclassmatesโ€, โ€œfriendsโ€, โ€œfamilyโ€ and could share things deliberately by circle (e.g., shared with friends and work friends but not family) was really neat, and was a great way to organize a feed.

Yโ€™know, Iโ€™ve been thinking more and more lately about how Google+ really got the shit end of the stick because the idea behind it was SO COOL but it just didnโ€™t have any stickiness whatsoever and it makes me sad

Letโ€™s talk about Graham Platnerโ€™s Big Lie, finally. In 2009, at the height of the Gulf War, the Marines barred him from active duty. Platner claims it was his forearm tattoos. But his one forbidden tattoo was the Nazi symbol on his chest. He knew - and he left the Marines rather than give it up. 1/

If you're arrested in Illinois protesting Trump's illegal war against Iran, I can represent you pro bono. Email me at sheryl@weikallaw.com. As always, I will take as many cases as I can.

dumbledore - Wiktionary, the free dictionary

Just as an aside, Dumbledore might be harder to protect anyway since itโ€™s an old English word for โ€œbumblebeeโ€โ€”itโ€™s harder to get to the fanciful end of the spectrum and there are arguments for alternative use

Privilege rely on the LLM provider *actually retaining* the data, which with a ZDR and no-training policy in place thereโ€™s no retention and no possibility of access by a natural person

28.02.2026 04:44 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

A lot of the same privilege waiver arguments were made for email when it was first coming up since technically email providers could access the contents, now you canโ€™t be a lawyer without using email.

Thatโ€™s not to say AI tooling will be effective or useful, itโ€™s just the specifics of waiving โ€ฆ

28.02.2026 04:44 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Right, Iโ€™m aware of how privilege works as a lawyer myself.

My point is that functionally every SaaS (even the legal ones) have this or something similar in the TOS. And assuming zero data retention (inputs and outputs deleted, market standard for LLMs these days), Iโ€™m hard pressed to see a waiver

28.02.2026 04:44 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Sure but it has *inputs*, the main difference there (assuming you have a zero data retention plan which most of these offer on enterprise) is the set of functions performed.

Iโ€™m not saying โ€œtrust LLMs for legal workโ€, Iโ€™m saying the data sharing with service providers piece is just inherent in SaaS

28.02.2026 03:34 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

If OpenAI has their own servers, sure, but they have to be able to share data with the host servers to perform the functions the tool is being asked to do. Any cloud-based SaaS tool is going to be functionally similar and have similar protocols, AI or not

Keeping your data encrypted
Clio uses strong encryption. Data moving over the internet is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS 1.2 or higher, and stored data is encrypted with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES - 256).

That doesnโ€™t strike me as out of the ordinaryโ€”that language about โ€œto our service providersโ€ is like to AWS. Clio as a law practice management tool has similar language: www.clio.com/security/

(Bloomberg) --ย The global smartphone market will contract 12.9% in 2026 because of the unprecedented memory chip shortage, marking โ€œa crisis like no other,โ€ according to researcher IDC.
The new forecast, a dramatic revision down fromย earlier estimates, gives the latest accounting of the ongoingย memory crunchย thatโ€™s affecting every corner of the electronics industry. The demand for advanced memory to power artificial intelligence tasks has drained global supply until well into next year and now jeopardizes the business model of many smartphone makers.
IDC now sees roughly 1.1 billion mobile shipments in 2026, down from 1.26 billion the prior year and erasing years of gradual gains. Smartphone manufacturers are adapting to the elevated component costs by reining in specifications, eliminating unprofitable entry-level models and pushing consumers to buy more premium devices.
โ€œThe tariffs and pandemic crisis seem a joke compared to this,โ€ said IDC Senior Research Directorย Nabila Popal. โ€œThe smartphone market will witness a seismic shift by the time this crisis is over โ€” in size, average selling prices and competitive landscape. We donโ€™t expect the situation to ease up until mid-2027, at least.โ€

Tennessee GOP Intro Bill To Kill Women Who Get An Abortion Here's an update on the bill, on the men responsible, and how you can contact them to stop this bill

Hey, so, reminder that Tennessee Republicans are introducing a bill that would kill women who get an abortion.

I dug up the MAGAs names, numbers, emails, & a script to use when calling them. Menโ€”we need to step up. Act. Inundate them. Shut this trash down ASAP.
