yeahhhhhhhh i'm having a crying fit because i don't want to deal with this and i don't want to make decisions regarding it

my workplace shouldn't have mice

it's kind of a big deal that i have a job that doesn't make me suicidal tbh and i don't want to lose that

i don't think i can find another job where i can just fuck off to another country whenever i feel like it, leave several hours early to attend music rehearsals, or take as many sick days as i need

i feel very trapped

i feel genuinely nauseous with anxiety at the thought of returning to work tomorrow. i feel like the wisest thing would be to say "if you don't take care of the mice, i'll quit", but i don't feel like i can handle a different job.

i'm hella autistic, do you know how hard it is to find employment??

i've already told my boss to reach out to the landlords to like, actually assess the building to see how the mice are getting in, and calling exterminators, but he does nothing. other than set traps to kill them which also makes me feel horrible. i'm scared of the mice, but i don't want them dead

i'm extremely concerned about these elementary school kids contracting diseases obviously, but i don't exactly want to get sick either. my mom says it's inhumane for me to work somewhere infested with mice, and i know it is, but i don't know what to do

i feel so embarrassed when students' parents come up to me & are like "did you know you have a mouse??" like yes.....i've seen him more times than i'd like to....& i don't know what to do so if your kid gets bitten, good fucking luck i guess??

most of the students are in elementary school btw

for a long time the mice had like, self-preservation skills, and knew to hide, and i never saw them

the current mouse does not have these self-preservation skills and freely runs around my workplace, digging into things without a care in the world while students are in the room with it

i've been at my current desk job since March 2023, & i think like literally during my first week we discovered a mouse, & my boss set traps and it was taken care of

but every couple of weeks another one appears, & it's been this same pattern for almost 3 years now
