30+ years in the NHS (now retired). I used to be a ‘suit’ but don’t hold that against me. Never tory, NEVER, EVER, TORY!

I was invited for my Flu and Covid jabs last week by the pharmacy that administered them last year, as I am classed as clinically at risk.
Well, I was until last week! Apparently the NHS have decided that I am no longer at risk from Covid for another 11 years. My MP refuses to respond to my queries.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social re Siegried Sassoon’s MC. He threw the ribbon to the cross in the Mersey, not the Thames, he kept the medal and that is what was found a few years ago.
It’s documented in Robert Graves’ autobiography ’goodbye to all that’ that I first read 50 yrs ago

This is a ‘super’ yacht we saw in Greece last month. This photo was taken about a mile away from it. It was huge. It had a crew of 25 and had a helipad and a swimming pool on deck. It had been there, stationary, for 2 months when we saw it. When we checked, it is owned by the family that owns MCFC

I choose to research issues myself. AI software is liable and open to misinterpretation of real or mis information. It’s ridiculously easy to change a page on Wikipedia. If that change is unchallenged it ‘becomes’ the de facto position. Repetition of the lie amplifies it.

I would rather you did some proper journalism and investigate why these women have reacted in this way and more importantly, who has influenced them to react in this way. In these circumstances I fear that no-one can cover all the bases to satisfy all parties but calling for a sacking seems odd.

Oh no! I’ve accidentally pressed ‘share’ on as many platforms as I can.

But you see in their tiny minds, a facility is not the same thing as a base, in much the same way that $50,000 in cash in a brown envelope is not a bribe…..

@mrjamesob.bsky.social we were actually in Sparta three days ago. They are (now) a lovely group of people, kind Leonidas included, but the anti Israel stickers all over the town are a telling comment on how many of them feel about Israel’s actions

I’m not sure why people don’t just pull their masks down and share their pictures? It’s hardly assault and if they are so proud of their jobs surely it’s encumbent to share their pride with the world?……

I have a few regrets in my life but the one that nips at me is that I won’t be about in 100 years to read what the historians make of Trump and his deranged, deluded attempts at seizing power at any cost from the American people.

Consider what you all look like from, and to, the rest of the world. It’s pathetic! If you can’t take care of one totally unhinged person spouting word salad sentences that he thinks are political dynamite, (and incidentally you can include his cabinet) then I’m afraid you deserve everything you get.

Imagine his portrayal in the history books. Marcus Aurelius, wrote in his work ‘Meditations’ that "What we do now, echoes in eternity"
He is trashing his family’s (dubious yet nevertheless important) contribution to US history for another suckle at the teat of fame.
Shame on his and his family

The problem with a pharma company winning a lawsuit against the US government is that any damages are paid out of federal (tax payers) funds. It would be appropriate if these individuals were sued in a private capacity and have ALL their bank accounts immediately sequestered. They’d think twice then

You can almost hear the claims of ‘mis-trial’
When the President of the US goes on TV and says “I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him,”
That’s clearly not right…….

Surely with the billions of dollars he’s extorting from companies around the world he can afford to pay this, or get someone else to pay it on his behalf and then pay him back…..

Not in the US? You mean like, for example, a royal prince in the UK who paid £12m to a woman he said he’d never met and didn’t know, who had a picture taken with her with a convicted sex trafficker in the background and then went on TV to deny everything and got called out by the Nation for it.

I looked at their on-line application. I completed all fields (including the fact that I have several other credit cards, a regular income and a credit rating just 60 below the top level. They offered me a card with a £1000 credit limit. I chose not to continue. They have chased me for 7 months!!🙄

If the Fartage house in Clacton is in his wife’s name, which property is he (or his wife ) claiming as his main residence in order to claim either tax relief or expenses?

I’ve said it for years about trumps business acumen. China has been trading around the world for thousands of years. America, as it is, probably less than 200 yrs. China play the long game, trump and the current GOP want ROI yesterday. In all aspects of commerce China make the US a laughing stock.

Let me understand this.
A woman had a home in the north (main res at that time) with a flat in London funded for her for those nights when she stayed over.
She divorced and moved out of house in the north (and has no finc call on it) and then bought a house in the south (new main res).

Anyone?

I have no interest in what those Tories have to say but it’s also, in large part, about how organisations manage their internal governance. It was, is, and unless a govt changes the law, the responsibility of the employer to ensure their staff are eligible (and legally able) to work in the UK.

And when he relays a conversation starting ‘an (insert military rank) came up to me and said “Sir we had no idea how effective your plans would be….’

You just know that the conversation took place in the cavernous, empty, adderall riddled hole in his skull where his brain should be.
