valkyries got whooped by a connecticut team that they should’ve beaten, BUT, that sun young core has a lot of potential, especially on defense. lacan and rivers have the chance to be a really scary defensive duo. sheldon can fit that mold too.

is the team’s expectation that fágbénlé, zandalasini, salaün, vanloo, and linskens all go to eurobasket? or could they still be anticipating on some of these players announcing that they’re staying, like leite did?

per the rotation last game, i’m surprised linskens got the last spot over amihere and touré. however, i imagine linskens is the cut if rupert reports after eurobasket.

veronica burton plays hard, but julie vanloo needs to have that starting job by opening night

who knows, maybe no one picks her up and she’s available when half of this roster goes to EuroBasket. but cutting her before a preseason game makes me think that option may not be on the table.

darn… really thought she was going to make the roster. if you look at the team from potential alone, Sellers was probably top 3-4. I’ve got to imagine that her knee isn’t looking great. but still, I would’ve been in favor of letting her rehab the knee on this roster with their developmental staff.

appreciate the background — referenced it on the pod today. hoping the valks select a high upside prospect instead of a high floor/low ceiling prospect. expecting them to be awful this year so hopefully development is a priority.

janiah going to USC would be so good for entertainment purposes

janiah barker entering the transfer portal made the most sense to me. i imagine sienna betts’ development is being prioritized, and they both play the same position when lauren is on the floor. londynn jones’ decision was surprising though. where else does a 5’4” guard get more playing time?

wonder what they’ll take for it considering how much they gave up for it. malonga would be a home-run pick for the valkyries, but i wouldn’t give up any future draft capital to move up 3 spots.

watched the girls McDAAG game — jazzy davidson is going to be a star. adding her + a kennedy smith leap and USC will be just fine. can’t wait to watch that trio when juju returns.

with washington now having 3 & 4, it feels likely that malonga gets selected with one of those picks. if that’s the case, i hope azzi declares so the valks could draft her at 5.
