Split all my tired old firewood yesterday thanks to my neighbor Dylan and his friend’s splitter. Extremely gratifying pastime.

Oh, that’s good. At Makushin we also had SOM for Sound of Music. The little valley was sweet and lush in a way the aleutians mostly aren’t.

But I failed in a late attempt to rename stations so that they
would spell ‘pencil dick’ on the map. Ask Paskievitch.

Good call. I named a repeater site on Makushin ‘God’s Own’ because it was the only landable place in a whole line of peaks and ridges. And you could walk out.
