State-sanctioned ostracism leads to real world consequences. It leads to kids like I used to be spending school nights sitting up in lonely terror, believing that I would never be able to live authentically and maintain a relationship with my family.

The scapegoating, the use of queer kids as a distraction from the historic corruption and incompetence of this administration, is violence.

As someone who grew up a queer kid in a small rural MI town, the attacks from political leaders on my community still echo in my head.

Exactly. Right now in MI, there are 0 trans kids receiving waivers from our state’s high school athletics association. They average 2 a year. Out of 180,000 high school athletes.

It is utterly, inexcusably shameful for ANY Democrat to support the MI House GOP attack on trans kids today.

There is no queer rights movement without our trans siblings. An attack on any of us is an attack on us all.
