I remember hearing traumatic events can cause it. If true, I know exactly when it happened. My sister died when I was 7 and we were very close. I didn't cry at her funeral and screamed that's not my sister. I finally processed it months later and flipped out while drawing. Had trouble drawing since.

At UCLA, I was working with three Mikes, all sitting together. I just greeted them with, "Hey, Mikes."

Names go in cycles. I used to work with the woman behind babynames.com, so I know there are sites for tracking name trends.

Aphantasia, for the most part. When I was hurt by the antibiotic Cipro, one of the 15 side effects/consequences(!) was seeing images when I closed my eyes for about 2 weeks. Since I wasn't used to it, it was scary to me.

I'm doing a full 3rd edition of a book, and it's not like the 1st edition didn't get some rave reviews. Starting an epic sci-fi series with a political thriller and escalating from there would have been something like that, but too hard to market.

I've taken too long of a break after another injury. Definitely need to get back to the gym.

I tried really hard to squeeze a couple of beats out of a comedy exchange to make it hit quicker. Those are the edits that make me second-guess myself.

This is the crocodile stitch necklace by Tamara Kelly on Craftsy. I made it in gray recycled cotton. It is made by first stringing some beads on, then working the crocodile stitch with beads at the tip of the scale. I do still need to weave in my ends.

I've gone to a ridiculous extreme on editing. We'll see if the effort ultimately pays off. Might not know until I have a few books done.

I'm very much into crafting, and there are touches that are only visible on re-reads.

1st edition had some superfans, but still needed better pacing in the first half, despite the high-octane ending.(pub)

2nd edition, people loved the aliens, but have to elevate the rest to match. (unpub)

Many of my 35+ year friendships were forged in that game.
