Confronted by all the things my body knows but wouldn’t let my mind in on till now. I start to cave. I know a tenderness is required of me if I want to stop being as sick, if I want to feel my emotions in real-time. When I drink, I think about how a lighter click could burst me into flames. How unbearable it must be to know everything. I refuse to see it; I can’t bear to look.
cold saline pushed through a butterfly in the nook of my arm hand or wrist sharp scratch to the vein it tastes metallic or it smells metallic & I’m thinking that I can taste it as it travels through me I feel it all over as it seeps under my skin like bitter rain
