Once I've finished playing Octopath 0, I'll likely start writing again - hopefully a mix of fics for that and CotC, but until then, I won't be writing.

This weary wannabe wordsmith needs a rest. 🙂

There's a good chance I'll be writing *something* for Octopath 0, but I really do need the break for CotC. I hadn't realised how much I'd written for it this year alone.

Hopefully when I come back I'll be better than ever. 🤞🏻

Just a heads up - this account will probably be rather quiet for a while. I'm taking a break from writing all things CotC, and probably won't be starting up again until next year. Had a few realisations and whatnot, and with Octopath 0 releasing in December as well...

This fic was a bit of a surprise to me, since I was taking a break from writing, but here it is! When the words want to come, it's hard to stop them. 🙂

New fic! Another entry in my status effects series, and possibly the final one for now, too! This time, it's the toxin status effect. The group get ambushed by a very large spider, and Scarecrow gets to play apothecary.

Nearly 2000 words of status ailment fic, this time for the toxin effect. I needed to make it a bit nastier than the average poison, so poor Theo is suffering a lot, but it's Scarecrow who saves the day.

I've always hc'd that as a hunter, Scarecrow has more knowledge of field medicine than most.

Tonight's been a good night for writing (even though I'm supposed to be on a break). I had an idea and I just wanted to see how far I could take it in an existing WIP, so I did.

I need to go through and edit it, but I'm pleased with the results so far. Hopefully I can get it posted soon. 🙂

Hopefully giving my OC more lore and backstory will make the ot0 playthrough all the more fun. Who knows? He might feature in a fic or two, too.

I haven't been giving as many writing updates here lately because I'm technically taking a break from writing, but I'm hoping to start up again soon.

I want to be rested and ready to write ot0 fics, and continue with my CotC stuff too, but I underestimated the interest and inspiration from an OC...

My mood's been rather low tonight. It started off well but suddenly dropped as the evening went on, so I threw myself into my writing instead.

I managed to add some more to a new status ailment fic, and I've been working on my OCs backstory, too.

Ooh, I just checked my stats, and I've written nearly 190,000 words this year. That's quite impressive for me!

My AO3 year-end stats are always surprising to me. It always feels like I haven't written much, and it's always a shock to see the figures disagreeing. 😅

I've wanted to fill in more of AU Gilderoy's past, and it's good to finally share it. 🙂

New fic! This is a prequel of sorts to my Coffee Corner AU series, showing what Gilderoy went through when he broke his leg in an accident. He mentioned it to Theo and Auguste before, but he was underplaying it for all it was worth. This is what really happened!

Certain monthly considerations mean I can't even focus right now, though. I've just got to wait. 😣

It's over 13,000 words, my longest project since One More Time, and it's sort of a prequel to it, too. This time I get to share some of Gilderoy's past. 💜

I really should get back to posting writing updates.

At least I've got good news on that front. Should have a new fic up soon. I've got an epilogue to write, and then I need to edit it, but hopefully there'll be a brand new Coffee Corner fic up on AO3.

Today is very much a low self esteem day.

It's not the kind of thing that others can help with, either. I just need to wait for it to pass.

Personal post, but... I think the Seasonal Affective Disorder really is starting to kick in now.

I started to take some steps against it last week, but apparently they weren't enough. I need to step up my efforts a bit.

When she was young, she wanted to learn wind magic so she could fly with her beloved birds, but fast learned that wasn't an option. She settles for watching them from the ground instead. 😌

As for my OC, she's a scholar studying the birds of Orsterra, looking to write a book about them. I need to work on her personality a bit more, but right now she's a quiet sort who prefers not to stand out, only warming up to a trusted few. 🙂

I'm going for scholar - that purple is so nice, and it fits the OC I have in mind for it already. 💜
