Meeting our anger with empathy is treating us like human beings. And when you dive into why we’re so angry, if you see our humanity in it all, then you’ll be angry with us, and for us. And that’s when folks will finally start helping and protecting us.

To the people who ask how they can support Black woken, I cannot stress enough how much I wish folks would stop seeing our anger as a threat, and start meeting it with empathy. Because of course we’re angry. And I wish more people would try to understand why instead of punishing us for it.

You’ve never had this energy for the BIPOC people who are murdered and “missing every day. You’ve never been this passionate about LGBTQ lives being destroyed, or immigrant families being ripped apart.

You can be offended by people’s reactions to it. But most of yall have spoke up more about this than the school shooting that happened the same day. Youre asking people to condemn political violence but have been quiet about the genocideS (yes multiple) happening.

Critiquing people who were the targets of someone’s rhetoric that actively turns into law to legally harm them is absolutely NOT the call for humanity you think it is. Not even close.

I didn’t stream multiple days like I wanted to, I didn’t film the multiple videos I wanted to, I didn’t go to a museum or take myself out on a solo date. I just panicked about the work I needed to do, but also didn’t do said work. I’m fucked.

I wasted my entire week off panicking about work, but not doing any work, but also not doing anything I wanted to either. Just had executive dysfunction and wasted a week off panicking my life and still will be burnt out. Great.

Literally just experienced the greatest kindness in my entire life from a complete stranger. Life really can be so beautiful 🥹🥹🥹
