Celebrating #Thanksgiving a week early with a #WeirdWednesday screening of #AddamsFamilyValues, a movie I definitely didn’t know was a sequel until I was in high school, YEARS after I had worn out my VHS of this one. 😂

Given today’s @horrorqueers.bsky.social episode on #Salò, it’s pretty wild that this was the first crossword clue I got today. Synchronicity! #Mangia! 😂😂😂

#Salò has rightfully earned its reputation, but I found it oddly compelling and (surprisingly) occasionally funny? Make no mistake, though: it's a very difficult watch.

Brancati is *absolutely* the series' MVP but I haaaaated how bland they made her character this season (save for her about-face in the finale). She works better with BIG characters.

Finale of RIPPER saved that season for me. It wasn't a total wash, but the gore was noticeably lighter and it was all kinda boring? The finale makes up for some of that, though.

Finale of HELL MOTEL I'm more mixed on.

#Slasher works best when it features characters you love to hate (S2-4) as opposed to characters you just hate (S5), and #HellMotel features the latter more than the former. But it's got some standout sequences, with the slasher-within-a-slasher flashback in Ep 6 being the season's standout.

Finished #HellMotel over the weekend (don't let the title fool you. It's Season 6 of #Slasher. There's even a brief crossover with Season 3!) and enjoyed it for the most part. Better than S1 (The Executioner) and S5 (Ripper), but weaker than S2 (Guilty Party), S3 (Solstice) and S4 (Flesh & Blood).

Seriously, though. Jettison Mayhem into the sun. I *hated* that character so much.

While I enjoyed season 2 of #TwistedMetal enough, I thought it was a slight step down from Season 1 (main issues: too much schmaltz with the John/Quiet romance & the Mayhem character was *never* as interesting as the show seemed to think she was). Here's hoping a new showrunner can freshen things up
