Maybe you should congratulate the auto focus system of my camera 😇
First I was not happy as in live I did not see what happened, only later, when I checked the images on the screen, I realized what great job the camera did.
Btw I use a Sony Alpha 1 Mark 2 with a 300-800 mm lens.

We talk about luck and I see you like squirrels.
For this photo I was focusing on a bird in the background when suddenly this squirrel jumped through my view. The camera instantly focused on the squirrel and this is the result. Pure luck, but for me an unforgettable moment. Squirrels are fun !

I suppose the climate at your place is less favorable for early hatching as it has been here at Lake Geneva in Switzerland, at least this year.

That’s true. Maybe due to rather mild spring temperatures we have these days or maybe also due favorable nesting conditions this year in the harbour.
