We all pay for roads regardless of how we get around and more often than not, it's non-drivers who are subsidizing drivers. Especially considering the low cost of sidewalks and bike paths compared to roads, while cars - and especially heavy trucks - wear out roads a lot more.

When I went to Bishop's from 2004 to 2008, I had to pay roughly $5000 per year as a New Brunswicker compared to $1700 annually for Québec students. The out of province rate back then was in line with the national average.
